Five illegal aliens were killed late Friday while pushing their car across railroad tracks and in front of a southbound Amtrak train, police said. The train was traveling about 80 m.p.h. at 10:30 p.m. when the men tried to push their eastbound car across a railroad crossing just north of Oceanside and adjacent to Interstate 5. A spokesman for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Saturday said there was no identification on the victims.
