2 Arrested After Chase: Police arrested two men on suspicion of attempted robbery and assault following a high-speed chase through several cities. Police said the chase began when two men tried to rob a gas station at 17th Street and Fairview Road about 10:45 p.m. Saturday and fled. The chase went through Anaheim, Cypress and La Palma and then west on the Artesia Freeway at speeds in excess of 100 m.p.h. The car was finally stopped in the city of Bell. John Scott McCurdy, 21, of Bell Gardens and Adolfo Benny Carreras, 36, of South Gate were arrested without incident, police said. No money was taken.
