Santos of Brazil Beats Japan Soccer Team, 4-1

Ze Sergio scored two goals as Santos F.C. of Brazil beat Japan’s All-Stars, 4-1, while Britain’s West Ham United and Japan’s Yomiuri Club battled to a 0-0 draw in the six-team Kirin Cup soccer championships Sunday.

After Sunday’s matches, Uruguay’s national team and Santos shared the lead with three victories and one draw, followed by Yomiuri with two victories against one defeat and one draw, West Ham with one victory, one loss and two draws, the Japan All-Stars with three defeats and one draw and the Malaysian Tigers with four defeats against no victories.

The finals in the round-robin tournament are scheduled Thursday in Tokyo.
