Eastman Kodak introduced its first VCR.

The company said its first stand-alone, 8mm videocassette recorder will feature digital stereo sound. The main components of the system, an audio-video recorder and a stereo tuner-timer, are the first in a series of Kodak MVS products, the company said. Kodak also introduced a line of stereo videocassettes and two video care kits.
