Claus von Bulow’s defense team presented medical experts who countered state arguments that his wife’s two comas in 1979 and 1980 were caused by insulin injections. The three endocrinology experts said that Martha (Sunny) von Bulow’s two comas were due to her own physical condition and drug abuse. Von Bulow, whose lawyers have tentatively decided not to have him testify, is being retried in Providence, R.I., on charges that he twice tried to kill his wife.
