ZURICH, Switzerland — The International Soccer Federation today declared an indefinite worldwide ban on all English club teams in the wake of a fatal riot involving British fans at a Belgian stadium last week.
Joseph Blatter, the federation’s general secretary, said the ban, which follows a similar move by Europe’s soccer union last week, covers only English professional teams and not those of Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales.
