Programs May Get More Money: Five nonprofit groups are slated for a 10% increase in city funds. Council members this week discussed alloting an additional $14,080 to groups that the city does not already support, but decided instead to increase the contribution to groups already receiving city money: Western Youth Service, Southwest Fullerton Community Center, Frail Elderly Day Care Center, Meals on Wheels, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Consolidated Transportation Service Agency. If the change is approved in budget hearings, those groups will receive a total of $153,500 during the next fiscal year, said Eileen Brownell, a city community services manager. It would be the second year in a row the groups received a 10% increase, Brownell said.
