Caymans Firm on Taxes

WASHINGTON —
Cayman Island officials said Thursday that they are eager to cooperate with the United States in combatting illegal drug traffic but that they will not bend their financial privacy laws to help Washington collect taxes. The Caymans, a British colony in the Caribbean, are seen by U.S. officials as a tax haven for Americans.
