A San Bernardino woman was killed and her husband injured in Orange when their car was struck by an automobile driven by a man who later was booked on suspicion of felony drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter, police said Saturday.
Peter V. Madary, 25, of Hacienda Heights, was driving on Struck Avenue at 10:20 p.m. Friday when he went through a stop sign on Main Street and struck the victims’ car, shoving it into a third car traveling south on Main, according to police accident investigator Stan Gabel.
Cynthia Hunt, 42, suffered internal injuries and was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where she died at 12:35 a.m. Saturday. Her husband, Wayne H. Hunt, 42, who was driving, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, where he was in satisfactory condition, a hospital nurse said Saturday.
The driver of the third car, Brian Dougher, 28, of Laguna Beach, was not injured.
Gabel said Madary was taken to Orange County Jail and booked.
