Police Arrest Second Corona Man in Stabbing Attack on 18-Year-Old
Police arrested a second Corona man Tuesday in connection with a stabbing incident near 2nd and Washburn streets in central Corona Saturday.
John Anthony Lopez, 24, was arrested at his home on charges of attempted murder, attempted armed robbery and violating parole, said Corona Police Lt. Bob Martin. Police did not know the charge on which Lopez was previously convicted.
On Sunday, Charles Soria, 20, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, attempted armed robbery and violating parole. Both Corona residents are being held without bail at the Riverside County Jail, Martin said.
Their alleged victim, 18, whose name was not released, remained in stable condition Tuesday in the intensive care unit at Riverside General Hospital after he was accosted Saturday and stabbed repeatedly in the chest, back and left arm, police said. He made his way to a nearby house, where a resident summoned police.
