Defense Secretary Picks Harvard Dean as Adviser

WASHINGTON —
Defense Secretary Caspar W. Weinberger said Tuesday he had appointed Graham Allison, the dean of Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, as a part-time special adviser.
Weinberger said Allison will report directly to him and will be expected “to serve as an intellectual strategic reserve, infusing new ideas and concepts on the substantive side of defense.”
