3 Slain on Street in Compton
Gunmen in a passing car fatally shot three men and wounded another as they were standing in front of a house in Compton at about 2 a.m., police said. John Henry Corbin, 20, was dead at the scene while his 18-year-old brother, Carl, and a neighbor, Monte Harmon, 19, died a few hours later.
Detective Stoney Jackson said at least three and possibly four men riding in a compact car “slowed down and just started blasting” with a large caliber handgun and “some type of shotgun” before speeding away. There was no apparent motive for the slayings, he added.
