6.5 Quake in South Pacific

GOLDEN, Colo. —
A strong earthquake Sunday shook islands in the South Pacific Ocean, the U.S. Geological Survey here said. The earthquake measured 6.5 on the Richter scale and was concentrated in the area of the Santa Cruz Islands, 1,400 miles northeast of Brisbane, Australia.
