A motorist was killed Tuesday morning after he changed lanes on Interstate 15 and hit a tractor-trailer truck, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The dead man was identified as Nicholas Roy Swader, 19, address unknown.
The truck driver, Jesse Phillips, 38, of Oklahoma, was going south on I-15 near the West Lilac exit in Bonsall when his truck was hit from behind by Swader’s car, said Jim Logan of the California Highway Patrol. Swader was traveling about 70 m.p.h., Logan said, and Phillips was traveling about 20.
Swader was pronounced dead at Fallbrook Hospital, he said. Phillips was not injured.
