Countywide : Casting Call Going Out for Film on Jury Duty

Share

A casting call is going out--not for a new Hollywood movie, but one being shot on location at the Orange County Courthouse.

The directors aren’t looking for experienced actors, just “ordinary Joe Schmoes with an urge to ham it up,” according to a courthouse representative.

When completed, the film, about the do’s and don’ts of jury duty, will be shown to prospective jurors in Orange County. It will replace a vintage orientation film that was complete with “stilted speech, ‘30s hairdos and E. G. Marshall as a kid,” according to the courthouse representative.

Three California lawyers’ groups raised $20,000 to pay for the updated film. Acting jobs will be strictly volunteer, and “cast members” must be available during the day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and July 6-8.

Would-be actors should report to Department 20 of the Superior Court, 700 Civic Center Drive, Santa Ana, at 10 a.m. on Monday. For further information, call (714) 834-3226 or 834-5277.
