Diamond Bar Girl, 2, Drowns in Family’s Swimming Pool
A 2-year-old Diamond Bar girl who had been playing with her 7-year-old sister drowned in the family’s swimming pool after the older child left her alone, authorities reported Tuesday.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the victim, Kimberly Louise Lyons, had been playing with her sister in the garage of the home while their mother was on the phone inside the house.
When the older girl left her, Deputy Lynda Edmonds said, the 2-year-old apparently found her way to the pool. The mother found her floating face down. The child was taken unconscious to Brea Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
