Scouts Select Fred Sands as Award Recipient
Realtor Fred Sands has been selected to receive the “Rabbi Edgar F. Magnin God and Country Exemplar Award” from the Los Angeles Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
The Exemplar Award, created by the council to mirror the values of the movement’s 4 million members, has been presented only eight times in the council’s 68-year history.
Sands, who will be honored at a dinner at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Sept. 27, is being recognized for his support of the Optimists’ Boys Home and Ranch of Los Angeles through his sponsorship of the Pacific Palisades 10K Run and for initiating the Santa Monica High School “Adopt-A-School Program”and other contributions to the community.
