Although 6,645 families visited Yosemite National Park on the Fourth of July, the volume did not create the congestion of previous years and no one was turned away, park officials said. The National Park Service was prepared to bar visitors who did not have lodging reservations in Yosemite Valley, the tourist hub of the park, but the restrictions were not necessary, spokeswoman Sharon Johnson said.
