Men wielding sledgehammers and crowbars smashed their way into three jewelry stores at an Arcadia shopping mall and escaped with at least $150,000 worth of gems and other valuables, police reported. Investigators said some maintenance workers and a delivery man saw the burglars drive away moments after the pre-dawn break-ins at J. Herbert Hall, Slavick’s and Schaffer & Sons jewelers at Santa Anita Fashion Park.
