Ratner to Head Acapulco Chain

Philip Ratner has been named president and chief operating officer of Acapulco Restaurants, Pasadena, which recently was acquired by Restaurant Associates Industries of New York. Ratner, 40, joined the 31-outlet Mexican restaurant chain in 1984 as vice president-operations. He replaces James C. Doherty, 46, who resigned as president and chief executive June 1.

The chief executive post was filled by Acapulco Chairman Max Pine, who is also president of Restaurant Associates Industries.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY

Arrays Inc., a Los Angeles-based developer of microcomputer software, has reorganized top management following the acquisition of a controlling interest in the company by Chaz Haba, chairman of Haba Systems Inc. of Van Nuys. Terms were not disclosed.

Haba, 50, becomes chairman and chief executive, replacing James Sadlier, who resigned. Arrays President James Buddle will continue with the new management team. Additionally, several Haba Systems officers will take over similar positions at Arrays, including Douglas G. Redding, vice president and chief financial officer; Ronald S. DeBry, vice president-operations, and Robert P. Jordan, vice president-marketing. Haba Systems also publishes microcomputer software.
