Developing Glitz on Coastal Area
I couldn’t agree more with the Orange County Grand Jury’s conclusions (July 5) on the sorry state of efficiency of the Board of Supervisors in recent years.
As for the NIMBY (not-in-my-backyard) attitude of the public, we feel defeated from the start by the skillful obfuscation of issues in the public interest to camouflage major interest in money, power and prestige.
The county board seems to have its head in the clouds of the developing glitz of the coastal area, to the detriment of solutions to more dire problems. We’re having glitz shoved down our throats, but someday they may have to eat it.
