Native American tribes opposed to the unearthing of Indian remains have decided to seek legislation that will give them more control over the belongings of their ancestors. At a two-day meeting in Santa Barbara, the Native American Heritage Commission emphasized its policy that burial remains and artifacts should be unearthed only as a last resort.
