Experts Meet in Bonn to Discuss Air Safety
Experts from the United States and six other leading industrial nations met in secrecy Wednesday on the first day of a two-day conference on air safety, only weeks after TWA Flight 847 was hijacked to Beirut.
The West German Foreign Ministry would not disclose the agenda of the conference or reveal where it was being held, but the June 14 hijacking of the TWA jetliner from Athens to Beirut was expected to be discussed.
Such air safety meetings have been held twice a year since 1978. West Germany was host this year because the 1985 economic summit meeting of the seven top Western industrial nations was held in Bonn in May.
The countries participating in the conference are West Germany, the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Italy and Japan.
