The council also voted to waive decay requirements in the Westwood Boulevard/Pickford Way tree removal and replacement project. Within 30 days, residents and property owners on these streets may request that the city remove and replace trees that have lost less than 50% of their strength because of decay.
The city had originally planned to remove and replace only those trees that had lost 50% to 60% of their strength.
