Thurmond Aide Will Be Named as U.S. Attorney

President Reagan will nominate Vinton DeVane Lide, an aide to Sen. Strom Thurmond (R-S.C) to be U.S. attorney for South Carolina, the White House announced Thursday. Lide, 48, is a former assistant state attorney general and served on the staff of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
