Slain Couple’s Son, 20, Found Fatally Shot
The body of a man believed to be the 20-year-old son of a Brentwood couple found stabbed to death in their home was discovered Monday near Lake Arrowhead.
The body was inside a locked car, the apparent victim of a suicide, San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials said. Peter Yoon Suk Hough was found at 6:30 a.m. with a bullet wound in the head, sheriff’s spokesman Jim Bryant said.
Hough had been sought by Los Angeles Police Department investigators for questioning in the deaths of Dong Sup Hough, 54, a druggist, and his wife, Inn Sook Hough, 47, whose bodies were discovered Saturday by the couple’s 22-year-old daughter.
“Hough seemed to be severely depressed lately to the point that his parents wanted to take him to a psychiatrist,” said Lt. Michael Carpenter, commanding officer of the West Los Angeles Detective Division. “He did not want to do that.”
Carpenter said a rifle was found in the car, which was registered to Dong Sup Hough, next to the body in the front seat.
Hough, he said, “was dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.” He added that an autopsy, scheduled for today, would be conducted to make positive identification.
