PLYMOUTH, Wash. —
Fifteen Greenpeace demonstrators on bicycles were arrested Monday on a bridge between Washington and Oregon for blocking a truck they said was loaded with nuclear waste headed for a disposal site.
Traffic was halted on the Columbia River bridge between Umatilla, Ore., and Plymouth, Wash., by the demonstrators who pedaled bicycles onto the bridge about 5:30 a.m., said State Patrol spokesman Mike Phelps. The demonstrators were charged with disorderly conduct.
