Arcadia
The county Regional Planning Commission will continue a public hearing at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at the Board of Supervisors hearing room in the Hall of Administration to review a permit that allows Edwards Drive-In Theatre to conduct swap meets. The drive-in is in unincorporated territory near Arcadia.
The hearing is the result of numerous complaints about parking and traffic from residents in the area of Live Oak Avenue and Peck Road and from parishioners of nearby Annunciation Catholic Church. The swap meet operates from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends and holidays.
The commission will consider a zoning permit, scheduled to expire in 1988, that has no conditions regulating traffic or parking. The commission could revoke the permit or add such conditions to it.
