Priest Pleads Innocent to Charges of Sex Abuse

PROVIDENCE, R.I. —
A Roman Catholic priest pleaded innocent Wednesday to charges he sexually abused three young boys at a church rectory and his summer home.
Father Armand Ventre, 53, was released on $30,000 personal recognizance following arraignment before Superior Court Judge Thomas J. Caldarone Jr. A pre-trial hearing was set for Sept. 25, with a tentative trial date of Oct. 28.
