Fifth District Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky has named Alisa Belinkoff Katz, a seven-year veteran of his office, to be his chief deputy. She is the first woman to be named to that post.
Katz, an honors graduate of Brandeis University, came to Yaroslavsky’s office after completing a Coro fellowship, a program designed to train local government staffers.
She has been primarily involved with legislative issues and the council’s finance and revenue committee, according to a statement from Yaroslavsky’s office.
