Miles Remembered

That’s a very moving little note about Jo Miles in your July 7 issue. I used to go out to have tea with her, served on trays in our laps, starting in the early ‘60s; with her mother there, it seemed as if Jo would be immortal. She never lost her intense interest, almost a scavenger’s passion, for what was going on in words and the connections of words with things.
