So Howard Merrill is upset at all the “multimillionaire rock stars” and the “sickening mass media . . . hype” surrounding the live aid concert (Calendar Letters, July 21).
Read my lips Howard--more than $40 million was raised to feed starving humans in Africa. Yes Howard that’s all they did, they didn’t stop killer diseases, or hunger in America.
Sorry.
Who cares about all the egos, who cares about media hype, the bottom line is the thing worked--the money was raised!
Howard, why don’t you call Mother Theresa and complain about her work. If not, then start your own fund to stop killer diseases and feed Americans. Get a clue, Howard and quit whining.
