I found it ironically amusing to turn the page on Connie Johnson’s cogent and remarkably accurate commentary on the apparent double standard rampant in bimbo rock (“Rock Bimbos: A Club For Women Only?” July 28) and spot an ad for a couple of classic male bimbos in Wham!

However, I think Johnson missed a whole segment of the market, those oh-so-cute/vicious/slutty heavy-metal boys that seem to adorn every other page of a well-known local music magazine.

If you look close enough, I think you’ll see that today’s heavy metal poseurs are simply taking Little Richard’s and Mick Jagger’s bimbo antics to their most absurd extremes.
