La Habra : Injured Man Arrested in Shooting of Roommate
A La Habra man who was shot in the stomach, reportedly during an argument with his roommate, was reported in stable condition Sunday at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana.
Jimmy Silvey, 26, arrived home at the Friendly Hills Trailer Park about 1:30 a.m. Sunday and got into an argument with roommate Richard Squires, 58, police Sgt. Joe Milazzo said. A shot from a .22-caliber semiautomatic handgun was fired, Milazzo said. The bullet went through Silvey’s abdomen and struck Squires in the right arm.
Squires was treated at La Habra Community Hospital and released. He was then arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Milazzo said. Bail was set at $10,000.
