Bookies Offer Odds On London Weather

London’s summer has been so cold and rainy that bookmakers are now offering odds on when the sun will finally shine.

Odds are 8-1 against the temperature topping 85 degrees by the end of the month and 10-1 against its climbing to 80 degrees by the end of the week, a spokesman for William Hill bookmakers said.

And pessimists who bet that it will rain every day until the end of the month collect 25 times their wager if the typically British weather persists, he said.

It has rained every day in London since the first of the month, according to the London Weather Service.
