A woman who allegedly was kept as a sex slave for seven years by a mill worker wants more than $10 million from her accused abductor, Cameron Hooker. In her lawsuit, Colleen Stan, 29, contends that Hooker threatened her with “crucifixion” or other harm if she tried to escape. She is seeking damages for false imprisonment, invasion of privacy and assault and battery. The lawsuit filed in Tehama County Superior Court also seeks civil and punitive damages for the emotional and psychological distress that Stan says she continues to suffer as a result of being held captive from May, 1977, to August, 1984. Hooker, 32, is awaiting trial on 16 felony charges of kidnaping, false imprisonment and various sex offenses. He has been held in Tehama County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail since his arrest in November. His trial is to begin Sept. 2 in San Mateo County, where proceedings were moved because of publicity. Hooker has pleaded innocent.
