A man sought since August in a Calexico slaying was arrested Thursday morning in San Diego, a police spokesman said. Detectives arrested David Meza, 28, formerly of Calexico, at his Wilson Avenue residence.

San Diego detectives had been notified by Imperial County authorities that Meza was believed to be living at the Wilson Avenue address. Detectives identified Meza and took him into custody on a murder warrant issued in September, the spokesman said.

Meza had been sought in the stabbing of Manuel Rodriquez, 27, according to Imperial County authorities. They said Rodriquez was killed during a gang fight after a party in Calexico. Meza was returned to Imperial County to face charges.
