NO NUKES

Share

I was surprised to find myself in agreement with Nicholas Meyer when he said that “there should be many more films and TV programs approaching the topic (of nuclear war) from every angle possible” (“Shaking Off Our Nucelar Sleep,” Aug. 4).

Unfortunately, my guess is that Meyer is only interested in seeing the angle from the point of view that anything is better than a nuclear confrontation.

Does Meyer see any need to show the other side of the nuclear coin? The side that examines the question of what happens to a nation that becomes so paranoid about the threat of nuclear war that its adversaries use nuclear blackmail to enslave them.

I suspect that examining the nuclear issue from that viewpoint is not at all what Meyer has in mind.
