Arroyo Grande Inn

After reading an article in the Travel Section last year about the Rose Victorian Inn in Arroyo Grande, Calif., my husband and I visited there last week. It was like stepping back to an age of elegance, charm and graciousness. The inn is 100 years old, with authentic Victorian decor, beautiful antiques, private or shared bathrooms. There were fresh flowers and fruit in every room. The inn is surrounded by a 30-foot rose arbor and beautiful gardens with a gazebo. There is a restaurant in the gardens with excellent food. The proprietors, Mr. and Mrs. Cox, are charming and go out of their way to ensure that you are comfortable.
Rates for two, including sumptuous breakfast and dinner, are $75-$115. The inn is close to wineries and other places of interest.
