Welsh Ball Team Defies Anti-S. Africa Pressure

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa —
A professional Welsh rugby team arrived here Monday for a three-week tour of South Africa despite pressure from anti-apartheid groups to call off the trip.
“There was pressure from many anti-South African movements,” Arthur Rees, chairman of the Crawshays team, told reporters. “But all along we decided the tour would go ahead.” Reese refused to answer questions on the political implications of the tour.
