Monterey Park

The city of Monterey Park has received an $8,900 federal grant to set up a program offering technical assistance to people interested in going into business. City Manager Lloyd de Llamas said the city economic development office will identify goods and services needed in the city. De Llamas said many newcomers have started the same kinds of businesses, particularly Chinese restaurants. The new program will identify opportunities in fields with less competition.
