Oman Agrees to Buy eight Toronado Jets

MUNICH, West Germany —
Oman is buying eight Tornado jets under an agreement signed Wednesday by the Persian Gulf sultanate and the European manufacturers of the advanced fighter plane.
The contract was signed in London by Oman, British defense officials, British Aerospace and Panavia, a Munich-based company.
The Tornado is produced by Panavia, British Aerospace, Aeritalia of Italy and Messerschmitt-Boelkow-Blohm of West Germany.
