From Reuters
HAMBURG, West Germany —
Two women were killed and at least 11 other people injured when the worst August storms in a decade hit northern Germany, police said Thursday.
Nine people were injured, three seriously, when their ferry was torn from its moorings on the North Sea island of Wangerooge.
In Bremerhaven, several tankers and container ships broke away from their moorings, briefly halting harbor traffic. One vessel, the Liberian car transporter Pioneer Ace, was dashed against a dock gate and large hole was torn in its hull.
