FUTURE NUKES

Share

In “Weapons of Entertainment” (Aug. 4), Tod Lindberg maintains that, because we have avoided using nuclear weapons during the past 40 years, the future is safe from nuclear incidents. This is akin to saying that, because one has driven drunk with no accidents, it is safe to drink and drive--a statement, at best, ridiculous and, at worst, extremely dangerous.

Given the number of countries with nuclear capability rising every year, the only prevention to a nuclear incident remains the total elimination of nuclear weapons.
