Regarding Kevin Thomas’ parting shot in his review of “Real Genius” (“Satire With a High IQ,” Aug. 8): “How is it that (director Martha) Coolidge let the (Caltech-like) school be presented as an almost entirely all-male institution?”
Has he ever been to the real Caltech campus or checked the enrollment ratio of women there?

About 16.0342712362% of the 817 undergraduates at Caltech are female, according to a Caltech spokesman who says that, recruit as it might, the Pasadena school has trouble finding women who want to make science and technology their life.
