Torrance Tightens Grant Program

Share

The city’s grant program for nonprofit organizations has been tightened to include only social service agencies serving Torrance residents, excluding committees or other informally structured organizations.

The changes, recommended by the Human Resources Commission and adopted by the City Council last week, will not affect grant categories, which remain child care, health care and human services.

This year’s funding will be limited to one project or program per organization and will not be granted for general support.

This is the second year the city will give out a total of $15,000 to nonprofit organizations. Grant applications will be accepted between Aug. 26 and Sept. 23.
