Radar records suggest that the thunderstorm in which a Delta Air Lines L-1011 jumbo jet crashed at Dallas on Aug. 2 could have been spotted in time to save the flight, the Dallas Times Herald reported. The National Transportation Safety Board’s chief investigator, Rudolf Kapustin, said the storm was visible on radar 14 minutes before the crash. The board is still analyzing the crash, which killed 134 persons. Wind shear--sudden change in wind direction--is believed to have been a factor.
