Laker moved to halt settlement of antitrust suit.

One-time air tycoon Sir Freddie Laker went to court in St. Helier, Channel Islands, in a last-ditch attempt to block the $48-million settlement of Laker Airways’ antitrust suit over the 1982 collapse of its cut-price, transatlantic Skytrain service. A liquidator acting for the creditors of Laker Airways, which for tax reasons was registered in Jersey, one of Britain’s Channel Islands, is seeking permission to sign the settlement. But Sir Freddie contended that the deal is “pitifully inadequate.”
