Martin J. Salvin, president of Bishop Graphics, said he decided to scrap the preliminary acquisition agreement reported in June largely because of PerfectData’s unexpectedly large loss in the quarter ended June 30. Both companies said they might eventually resume negotiations, however. Bishop Graphics, headquartered in Westlake Village, makes supplies for designers of printed circuit boards. Chatsworth-based PerfectData makes computer maintenance supplies and floppy disks.
