The Federal Election Commission on Monday ordered Sen. John Glenn’s presidential campaign to repay the government nearly $75,000 for overspending in the 1984 Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary election.

Glenn’s campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination is still more than $2.8 million in debt, according to its latest report to the commission. Glenn (D-Ohio) withdrew March 16, 1984, after he lost the Southern primaries.
